Kristina's Color Challenge! 50th Challenge!

Hi there :) I will be the first to admit that I haven't posted an entry in quite a while. I want to re-do my entire blog on here, but haven't had the chance to do that yet. (perhaps it's 3 of my own kids at home plus another friend's baby during the day?) I was super excited to join in the fun, and very thankful that her deadline was nice n' long, that definitely helps me out! :-) I've used products from a few different places... the patterned paper is from K and Company, the small amount of ribbon is Martha Stewart, Button from American Crafts, Stampin' Up! set True Friend, another SU set Happiness Always (which is retired), an acrylic stamp set from K and Company (Amy Butler Lotus Greetings), Stampin Up glitter, MS glitter, Chipboard from Stampin' Up! .... this is quite a blend of different things!

Mojo Monday! valentines!

I can't believe I'm already posting again today! I am just so excited about crafting lately, it's really been a lot of fun. I moved all my stamping stuff AGAIN! This time I am stationed between the living room and dining area. Having it all sitting there looking cute makes it nearly irresistable. When it was in my bedroom, however, haha, I would get tired and leave quite a mess. :-)
Anyway, here is my MOJO MONDAY! Join in! http://www.mojomonday.blogspot.com/

The set is Love You Much, the paper is Candy Lane (all Stampin' Up! supplies used)

Kwerner Color Challenge! Carte Postale

Hello there!
Here with my color challenge once again! This week's colors were more mustard, taken with teal, so saffron, old olive and whisper white. I used the set Carte Postale along with just a smidge of non-stampin up products from Making Memories (Chloe's closet brad and mustard dotted paper) The inspiration for this card is from the UK SU catalog. They have some wonderful and beautiful ideas in their catalog that differ from the US catalog.
Do you ever make a card, take a picture and think, "gosh, it just looks so much better in person!" I feel that way a lot :-) At any rate, enjoy! Hope to see your submission, too!

Mojo Monday, yes I know it's Tuesday

This card came together quickly, and if it hadn't it would not have happened today. It's been awhile since having 4 kids during the day, but it's always nice that a 5 month old baby naps quite a bit. This comes courtesy of Madelynn's first nap today and the kids being entertained by a tootsie pop. haha.
This designer paper is retired and it's making me depressed. I never got a chance to even buy Georgia Peach, either. Man, and it's THE CUTEST. I'm not so wild about Stampin' Up's new designer papers this time go-round. Anyway... the wonderful site for inspiration: http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/
I absolutely ADORE having a layout set before me! When I first started stamping, it was all over the place, just doing whatever I felt would "work." That is how I paint, usually. Somehow it turns out. (I need to take some painting classes where they teach me some underpainting techniques) With my ever evolving stamping style and thoughts on it, the whole having a layout and figuring out the rest (like stamp set, colors, etc) later has been a lot easier. It can be a little daunting when you have collected the amount of stamping supplies and then trying to sift through to make something of it. :-)

Another Challenge O' Color

I'm back again this week for a color challenge from Kristina Werner. It's so much fun, you should join, if you already haven't. :-)
colors this week are pretty in pink, pumpkin pie, ruby red, and whisper white!

Off to shower, I'm in the process for training for the 10k (this is coming from a person who doesn't really even exercise) :-) Surprisingly enough, today went well!

Obsessing over Owls?

This is funny to me because I didn't think I was in any sort of Owl fixation, but I find myself doing owl cards. haha. Owls are just fun little guys to color in :-)
Welp, enjoy the owl of the day!! :-)

Grand Times: The Office and Cardmaking

It was another glorious night, cardmaking and watching The Office. I was enthused to use the new "in colors." Can you tell what my favorite of the 6 is? (hehe) The first card is from the set "Owl Together Now" and uses Hawaii Papaya designer paper. The other set is "It's a stretch" The inspiration is right out of the catalog, and I was so excited to make my very own! After learning the intricacies of that particular card, however, I don't really think it's feasible to do at the card party. I think more people need to make cards using the Owl Together Now set and post them, I've seen quite a few ugly examples but nothing that fun. Even the catalog examples aren't doing it for me. I know the set is much more cute/fun than that! :-)

Give Thanks possible card for the party

Is it possible, it's really only Tuesday? Having a short week last week has left me feeling like this week is UBER long. I have some projects to work on, however, with the kids around not many of those get done. :-)

I have been wanting to do a card party for quite some time, and since I am SLOW at planning it out, I am thinking rather than the end of September, the first week of October. This is an example that I think I want to use for the party. I am also just excited to think that it's almost Fall :-)

Happiness Always

This is a favorite set of mine right now. It is gorgeous. It was a little tricky to mount, since it is "double mounted." I think I figured it out :-)

Since I don't have a light table and brass templates for embossing, I used 1/4" circles (punched) to create the same sort of effect.

Color Challenge!!

So I finally got a small window of time to do a color challenge. I definitely don't feel like this is my best card, but I did have a great time with it while my husband and I watched Season 1 of the Office last night. (finally we know what everyone is talking about). We've never watched it b/c Thursday night was Grey's Anatomy night for us. Anyway, I had to use Old Olive and Tempting Turquoise in lieu of the new in colors. (I can't wait to get my order!) Everything is SU except the ribbon. (it's a random brand from Michaels) I feel like perhaps a scallop edge along the top would make it more "finished." What do you think? I feel like it's missing something....

Challenged by 2 Peas

You should consider doing the same. They say it takes 21 days to create or break a habit. It's a challenge for 21 days to make something in a journal (can be whatever you want, basically). Anyway, it is supposed to get the creative juices flowing and get in a habit of creating. I am going to do it because I think that is something I need for sanity these days. :-) check out their website!

I had a wonderful card party at church last week. (with the bible study women) It's got me super excited about card making once again. I am also committing myself to minister to others through sending cards. I have a goal of AT LEAST 3 a week. Help keep me accountable! I'll need it!

Time Well Spent!

I was so excited to use the new set sent FREE to demonstrators. The moment I got it, I mounted it. This morning, it was a reason to roll myself out of bed. That, and I suppose the kids. :-) haha. This is the first card I made with the new set. I used the Scrapbook set called: Confetti, along with the spiral punch, corner rounder, and river rock double stitch ribbon. I also used (for the first time) crystal effects, but it fell over and smeared, so I'll have to re-try that in the very near future. I was just excited to see it put on paper!
